Tutankhamun
A century after his discovery, his image remains as breathtaking as ever. Surrounded by gold, the glory of Tutankhamun altered our view on human history. Montegrappa’s newest creation resurrects the iconic, Ancient Egyptian ruler with a writing instrument fit for a king.
Beauty, culture, patrimony. Tutankhamun’s tomb is one of the world’s greatest treasures. Home to more than 5,000 precious artefacts, its discovery on 4 November 1922 by the archaeologist Howard Carter was a revelation. Now, ultra-rare editions in vermeil and 18K gold revive the pharaoh’s mythos on Tutankhamun.
Sculpted from precious metals, Tutankhamun reproduces the lavish ornamentation of the pharaoh’s golden death mask with cloisonné, bas-relief and black diamonds. It is a monument in miniature: every detail a tribute to the vital role artisans play in documenting and preserving civilizations.
As ruler of Ancient Egypt from 1333-1323 BCE, Tutankhamun’s hold on the popular imagination far overshadows his short reign. The 19-year-old’s tomb remains the only ancient royal burial site ever to be found completely intact. Beneath the pharaoh’s mask, his 3,300-year-old mummy is recreated in precious metals, then organically aged with advanced cataphoretic coating.
When Carter and his team entered the pharaoh’s burial chamber, they found a richly decorated room with a trio of nested coffins at its centre. Tutankhamun recreates his resting place in the Valley of the Kings with a diorama showcase that offers its own sense of wonder, and the promise of discovery.Made in editions of vermeil + sterling silver (100 pieces) and 18K gold (10 pieces), Tutankhamun awaits you in options of rollerball and fountain pen with cartridge /converter system ans 18kt solid gold nib size #8.
