How many discussions about the nibs... A lot of pen companies are relentlessly trying to get free of the German monopoly. Here’s the Visconti answer!
This is the first one I got the chance to try,size fine, 18kt solid gold. The first immediate impression is peculiar, I mean I expected a softer touch and a wider line while instead I found a hard, stiff, precise nib.
I write with extrafine so I might be partial but I love this nib. It’s not a flexible but it has a “Japanese” character. If this is the result I have probably found my favorite western extra fine.
I can’t wait to test the other sizes!😁

La Canzone del Grappa!
The pen takes its name from a patriotic chant of our soldiers during WWI.
I think it is particularly suited to this dramatic period we’re living in. It seems like we’re in war and we must fight. Our brave soldiers did it so there is always hope for the future.
Speaking of the pen I think this edition to be much undervalued. Most likely being dedicated to our Italian history it may have passed unseen.
It is not in the Montegrappa DNA to create demo pens so I find it even more fascinating.
It allows to see through the Montegrappa piston embellished by an engraving of the famous Villa in Bassano del Grappa. This version called the Memorial black features a splendid flexible nib and, for those who appreciate, a special bottle of Grappa.
