Naginata Togi Ebonite – ENRYU

Colored ebonite fountain pen ENRYU, available in a limited quantity, is equipped with Sailor Pen’s signature 21K gold KOP Naginata Togi nib and is crafted with the Chirashi (scattering) technique that gives it a powerful, impressive appeal.

As with other models in this annually released series, the design is inspired by a masterpiece of traditional Japanese art, expressed with colored ebonite.

This year’s release is our interpretation of “Dragon in Clouds (Unryu)” by Hiroshige Utagawa. The masterpiece only partially portrays the dragon, boldly depicting just the head and claws, for a sophisticated “less is more” approach. Late in his life, Hiroshige illustrated this descending dragon with a vertical composition, and we took the inspiration of his dramatically bold dragon and brought the image to life with ebonite.
